We are pleased to confirm our next talk will be on Wednesday 5th April at the Salvation Army Hall in Winton.
Well known local river experts Neil Maidment and Dave Taylor will be explaining their approach to trotting the Avon and Stour in winter.
The massive bonus is that running alongside the really informative talks we will be treated to Dave’s absolutely stunning photography of the river scenes, fish, bird and other wildlife to be found along our magnificent waters.
We can promise you an evening not to be forgotten.

After 3 years of trying we finally have been able to put some barbel into Throop.
We put 200 30cm to 45cm barbel in yesterday between the New Weir and School Bridge.
These are much bigger barbel than have previously been stocked into the fishery and will be followed by 200 next year and 200 the year afterwards. They are part of a monitoring exercise and were supplied by the EA from their fish farm at Calverton, Nottingham. I would like to thank Lewis Swift from the EA for his help with this happening.
Each fish has had a transmitter placed inside it, each with unique information and we hope in future to be able to monitor the fishes movement. The left pelvic fin has also been clipped to enable anglers to identify them, if you catch one can you please give me a call to let me know 07876204546
